The Club has created a Twitter account to send quick messages about where its flyable (and maybe where its not!). We could also use it for last minute ideas on where to fly this weekend. Its not designed for long messages about the fab trip you just had. Think 160 characters or less. If you have an epic story to re-tell - try Facebook or Email.
We are using Twitter through GroupTweet. If you are used to Twitter, this works a little differently. The idea behind GroupTweet is that there might be some topics you don't want to flood all your non-flying friends with. They are likely to get sick of hearing that its on at Cooks. So with GroupTweet, once set up, you send a Message to @MNCFlyers (Club Twitter account) with your message, and this gets distributed to all people subscribed to the Club Twitter account.
Remember: You don't tweet with this system, you send a Message to @MNCFlyers.
If you are not used to twitter, just read the instructions below!
1. You need to create your own twitter account if you haven't got one already - you can do this here.
2. Log into Twitter and choose to follow @MNCFlyers
3. **Important** You must allow us to follow you back, if you are restricting who can follow you.
4. Now you are ready to send messages to the group by sending a Message to @MNCFlyers
Step by Step Guide
a. Sign-in to twitter - there are apps for every smartphone too..
b. Select Messages menu in the top bar - not the tweet box:
c. Click on New Message
d. Address the message to SydneyFlyers
e. Now enter your message and click send
f. You know if your message has gone to the entire group if you can see the message in your feed starting with "via @(your username):
